The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is an International Development Agency working in partnership with Governmental Agencies, NGOs, as well as other International Agencies. The goal of SDC is sustainable poverty reduction by contributing to improve the living conditions of poor population groups in developing countries.
SDC Dhaka is responsible for the overall coordination of the Swiss development cooperation activities in Bangladesh. Its office is an integral part of the Swiss Embassy.
SDC is looking for a professional with experience in administration and management, specifically in the field of development cooperation.
Position: Executive Secretary / Assistant to the Head of Cooperation
Job Responsibility
- Overall management of the secretariat of SDC’s office in Dhaka
- General correspondence (writing/editing letters, e-mails, administrative reports, etc.)
- Preparation and follow up of in-house meetings/conferences (organisation, agenda, technical support, writing minutes etc.)
- Preparation/completion of agreements and contracts with partner organisations (project implementers) and consultants
- Secretariat for the organisation/execution of events (logistics and managerial support for workshops and seminars)
- Support to programme officers in the organisation of missions (setting up the programme, logistic support, assistance to visitors and guests, reporting)
- Assistance to the Head of Cooperation in the general SDC office management
- Coordination and cooperation with the administration team of the SDC office
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in administration and/or office management, thereof minimum 2 years as executive secretary
- Excellent command over English (written and spoken) / IELTS 7+
- Experience with an international organisation or foreign mission is a must
- Work experience in the development sector would be an strong advantage
- Well versed in working with Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point / good basic IT skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, is open, proactive and enjoys networking
- Thorough knowledge of modern office procedures and practices
Educational Requirements: A Post Graduate academic degree preferably in social science / MBA or BBA
