Position Vacancies – Senior Program Officer/Program Officers

The Asia Foundation’s Bangladesh office seeks qualified applicants for the positions of field-based Senior Program Officer and Program Officer for Bangladesh Local Economic Governance Program. Successful applicants will be responsible for the day-to-day management of program activities and technical support in select districts and for maintaining continuous contact and coordination with a variety of local partners and stakeholders. Specific responsibilities will include program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, coordination of program activities in select working areas, planning and administration of training workshops and seminars, facilitation of local-level policy dialogue between local enterprises and government officials, and managing domestic and regional exchange programs.  The successful applicant must be prepared to be based at the district level.

Key Qualifications:

  1. At least five years of progressively responsible work experience in the design and implementation of programs with a focus on economic growth, enterprise development, or related specialty fields, preferably with an international organization. District-level program experience an asset
  2. Master’s degree in economics, business administration, finance, public policy, or other relevant discipline
  3. Fluency in written and spoken English and Bangla
  4. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, email, and Internet applications
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Proven organizational and supervisory skills
  7. Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
  8. Meticulous attention to detail
